A bit of my process painting the turnip

Painting the lovely turnip on a vintage Ralph Lauren sheet, Allison. From way back in the last century. Maybe the 80’s?

Painted the veggies first. A bit hesitant about the fabric rendering. I wasn’t sure where I was going with this idea. Really interested in pattern play lately.

So, yes, it’s a bit timid. Which ended up having it’s own lost and found, dreamy quality. Need to do more of this.

As far as technique I’m experimenting with a very transparent palette. No cadmiums here.
